GUWAHATI, Feb 20: Unidentified miscreants attacked Dhubri Lok Sabha MP Rakibul Hussain at Rupahihat New Market today.
The Congress leader, who had represented Samaguri LAC prior to being elected to the Lok Sabha from Dhubri, was attacked by miscreants while he was on his way to attend a party meeting at Rupahihat.
Reports said the Dhubri MP was riding a Scooty to the meeting venue when some people entered into an altercation with Hussain’s PSOs before stopping the Dhubri MP.
The Congress leader’s PSOs reportedly fired in the air following the incident.
Videos showed people shouting “Rakibul Hussain Murdabad” and “Rakibul Go Back” slogans before a couple of them trying to attack the Congress MP.
