GUWAHATI, Dec 23: After a group of people claiming to be members of Osmania University Joint Action Committee on Sunday vandalised the residence of Pushpa 2 actor Allu Arjun in Hyderabad, the BJP has alleged that the attack was orchestrated by the Congress with one of the attackers said to be a Youth Congress leader and is close to Telengana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Reddy Srinivas, seen in videos and pictures, creating a nuisance at the actor’s residence, is reportedly the Kodangal Youth Congress President. A picture of him with the Telangana CM surfaced with the BJP alleging that the attacks were organised by goons linked to the Congress party.
CM Reddy, however, condemned the act of vandalism and said in a statement on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) in Telugu, that he condemns the attack and that he has directed the State DGP and City Police Commissioner to take strict action against the attackers.
The incident took place around 4:45 pm on Sunday with the attackers, reports said, threw flowerpots and other items at Allu Arjun’s residence, demanding justice to the woman who died in ‘Pushpa-2’ screening stampede.
Police said the protesters who arrived at Allu Arjun’s house mounted the compound wall and started throwing tomatoes besides damaging flowerpots and entering into a confrontation with the security staff.
Allu Arjun was not at home when the incident happened with Police now upping his security as a result of the incident.
