GUWAHATI, Nov 22: Valery Zaluzhny, the former Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine and presently Ukraine’s envoy to the UK, has claimed that World War III has begun, citing the involvement of Russia, the US, and global players like North Korea and Iran in the Ukraine conflict.
“I believe that in 2024 we can absolutely believe that the Third World War has begun,” he said at Ukrainska Pravda’s UP100 award ceremony, reports quoting Politico, the US political digital newspaper, said.
“Because in 2024, Ukraine is no longer facing Russia. Soldiers from North Korea are standing in front of Ukraine. Let’s be honest,” he reportedly said, and added: “Already in Ukraine, the Iranian ‘Shahedis’ are killing civilians absolutely openly, without any shame.”
Zaluzhny was dismissed from his military position in February and sent to the UK as the country’s envoy after disagreements surfaced between him and Ukrainian president Zelenskyy regarding war strategies.
