GUWAHATI, Nov 19: The Special CBI Court, Guwahati, today turned down the bail application moved on behalf of actor-model-influencer Sumi Borah. Presently in judicial custody, Sumi and her husband Tapan Borah alias Tarkik, surrendered before Dibrugarh Police after their names were embroiled in the infamous online trading scam involving Bishal Phukan, among others.
On the other hand, the CBI Court will hear the bail applications moved on behalf of Bishal, Sobhan Jyoti Kurmi and Chandan Nath, also arrested by the agency in connection with online fraudulent activities.
The CBI had earlier taken them into custody after the Assam Government handed over 41 trading scam cases, including the alleged fraudulent activities in which Sumi Borah, husband Tarkik and Bishal Phukan are accused, to the investigating agency.
