In what can be described as an act of brazen dictatorial attitude, the All India Congress Committee on Wednesday imposed a ban on News Live and Time8.
The Congress party in a statement said they will not allow journalists of News Live and Time8 to cover their political rallies, press conferences, and not send their spokespersons from participating in Talk shows.
This is nothing but a shameless act and reflects the utter chaos within the party. The Congress party has once again gone back to the dark era of Emergency in 1975 when late Indira Gandhi had imposed censorship on the media and even arrested several journalists.
Journalists and intellectuals across Assam and rest of the country has strongly condemned this act of media censorship by the Congress.
