National Board for Wildlife approves elevated corridor in Kaziranga and other key projects for Assam

In a major boost to road and railway connectivity in Assam, the National Board for Wildlife has approved five key projects for the state, including an elevated corridor near Kaziranga National Park.

The announcement was made by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Apart from elevated corridor near Kaziranga National Park, the other projects approved by NBWL include the Chapaguri to Amteka Asom Mala project Road (extending up to the Bhutan border); Guwahati Ring Road project including the Narengi-Kuruwa Bridge; Deepor Beel Railway Elevated Railway Corridor (13.31 Ha) and Deepor Beel Elevated Railway Corridor (0.3 Ha).

Taking to Twitter CM Sarma wrote, “Today marks a significant day for Assam as the National Board for Wildlife (NBWL), the apex body in India for all wildlife-related matters, has approved five very very important projects for Assam: 1. Elevated Corridor near Kaziranga National Park 2. Guwahati Ring Road project including the Narengi – Kurua Bridge. 3. Deepar Beel Railway Elevated Corridor 13.31 Ha) 4. Deepar Beel Elevated Rail way corridor 0.3 Ha) 5. Chapaguri to Amteka Assam Mala project Road up to the Bhutan border I extend my deep personal gratitude to Sri@byadavbjp Hon.
