GUWAHATI, Feb 11: The Trinamool Congress has nominated journalist Sagarika Ghose, former Silchar MP Sushmita Dev, Mohammed Nadimul Haque, and Mamata Bala Thakur as candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls, the party stated in a post on social media platform ‘X’.
“We are pleased to announce the candidature of @sagarikaghose, @SushmitaDevAITC, @MdNadimulHaque6 and Mamata Thakur for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections. We extend our heartfelt wishes to them and may they work towards upholding Trinamool’s enduring legacy of indomitable spirit and advocacy for the rights of every Indian,” the official handle of the party stated in a tweet.
Daughter of Bhaskar Ghose, former director general of Doordarshan and married to senior journalist and anchor Rajdeep Sardesai, Sagarika Ghose has been nominated for one of the five Rajya Sabha seats from West Bengal.
Elections for these seats will be held on Feb 27.
