Guwahati: The Ministry of Tourism, under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme, has sanctioned projects worth Rs. 197.03 crore to Nagaland for development of Tribal Circuit.
The objective of the tribal circuit is for development of tourism infrastructure and to showcase tribal art, culture, handicrafts and providing livelihood and enhance employment opportunities for the tribal population.
Minister of State (I/C) for Culture and Tourism, Prahlad Singh Patel in reply to a question in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday stated that for the development of Tribal Circuit in Keren-Kohima-Wokha in Nagaland an amount of Rs. 97.36 crore has been sanctioned during 2015-16.
For the development of Mokokchung-Tuensang-Mon Tribal Circuit in Nagaland, Rs.99.67 has been sanctioned during 2016-17.
