GUWAHATI: The state of Kerala is still reeling under the pressure of COVID19. On Saturday, the southern state recorded 16,148 new cases. Kerala also witnessed 114 deaths related to COVID19.
As per the Kerala Dashboard, the state has recorded over 15 thousand deaths due to COVID19.
With a population of over 3.5 crore the active cases in Kerala remain over one lakh twenty four thousand.
Till the evening of 16th July, over one crore sixty two lakh people (1,62,06,290) have received at least one dose of vaccine in Kerala. The COVID19 vaccination drive was launched on 16th January, 2021 with frontline workers and health workers receiving the first and second dose on priority. This was followed by elderly persons above the age of 60 years and later above the age of 45 years (1st April). The Government of India made vaccines free for everyone from the age of 18 upwards from 1st May, 2021.
