GUWAHATI: Assam has been paying tributes to state cultural icon Bishnu Prasad Rabha on his 52nd death anniversary.
Rabha, a great revolutionary is known for his unparalleled contributions in the fields of music, dance, painting, literature as well as political activism.
Taking to Twitter, Assam governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi said universal humanistic ideology of the revolutionary soul gave a momentum to the Assamese society.

Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma also paid his tributes to Bishnu Rabha.
“A great personality Rabha will always be a beacon in the heart of Assamese,” stated Sarma in a tweet.

On the other hand, Assam government has nominated veteran artistes Sonaram Nath and Dron Bhuyan for ‘Bishnu Rabha Award 2021’.
The date of the award ceremony will be announced later.
