GUWAHATI: Assam education minister Dr Ranoj Pegu said high school leaving certificate (HSLC) and higher secondary (HS) 2nd year examinations under the state boards would be held in modified modes when the COVID-19 scenario improves in the state.
He said state is yet to reach a ‘near normal’ situation. The education department is ready to conduct the exams once the COVID-19 situation improves.
“It is an abnormal situation. We have already indicated that we would be able to conduct the exams in a way favourable to the students,” the education minister said.
Pegu also claimed cancellation of exams cannot resolve the issue.
“For many students, the marks of HS and HSLC are important in their career,” he remarked.
