Guwahati: Devasish Sharma has been appointed as the Commissioner of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC).
Sharma an Assam Civil Service (ACS) officer was posted in Mumbai as Joint Commissioner, Assam Bhavan. Sharma will keep the charge additionally along with the new role as the GMC Commissioner.
He was earlier serving as the Additional Commissioner to the Government of Assam, General Administrative Department.
Meanwhile, the current GMC commissioner, Devajyoti Hazarika is transferred and will report to the Personnel Department.
OTHER APPOINTMENTS
Bhupesh Ch. Das, ACS, District Development Commissioner, Cachar is transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Sonitpur.
On the other hand, Pabitra Ram Khound, ACS, Secretary to the Govt of Assam, Industries & Commerce Department and Commissioner, Industries & Commerce, Assam is transferred and posted as Director, Sports & Youth Welfare, Assam.
