Dhupdhara: Around 50 bus passengers got injured when an Ultra-Bus (AS-01FC-5240) travelling to Dhubri from Guwahati met with an accident near Dhupdhara on Thursday. The passengers confirmed that the driver of the Ultra-Bus lost control while overtaking another vehicle.
As per reports, the accident took place at Guliyanpara (NH-17) when the over-speeding bus tried overtaking another vehicle and lost its control. The bus rolled off the road and hit a roadside electric pole.
The police with the help of local residents rushed the injured passengers to Model Hospital, Dhupdhara for treatment.
According to the passengers, “The accident took place after the bus tried overtaking a moving vehicle and was confronted by a vehicle coming from the opposite direction. The driver lost control of the vehicle which led to the accident, said the passengers”.
