A man hailing from Assam’s Barak Valley town of Silchar is under the radar of cops after he posted a highly inflammatory and communally sensitive video on facebook where he also threatened to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi besides using derogatory language against people professing Hinduism.
The man identified himself as ‘Lal’ in the video and used highly abusive language against Prime Minister Modi besides also threatening to kill Sonai MLA Aminul Haque Laskar.
After the video went viral, local BJP leaders lodged a complaint with Karimganj Police.
However, the person posted another video on the social networking site, this time targeting the Sonia legislator while at the same time praising Silchar Lok Sabha MP Sushmita Dev.
“Repent and change yourself, there is still time. If you don’t, then nobody can save you,” the person ranted against Aminul Haque Laskar in the second video.
“We have lodged an FIR on the basis of the complaint and are looking into the matter. The person hails from Kashipur in Silchar and has been staying somewhere in Bangalore. We went to his Silchar residence but his aged parents couldn’t help much” a police official told NEWS LIVE.

Meanwhile, the Sonai legislator also reacted to the person threatening to kill him saying he has seen the video but doesn’t know why he has been selectively targeted by the person.
“I have seen the facebook video. He has threatened me; he has threatened Prime Minister Modi. He has also used highly abusive language against Hindus and Hinduism. But I don’t know him and can’t figure out why he is threatening me,” Laskar told News Live.
Police are now trying to track his exact location and are of the view that he could be somewhere in Bangalore.
