15 Assam districts with highest COVID19 cases

GUWAHATI: COVID19 cases are on rise in Assam in the last week of April. The highest number of cases has been recorded in Kamrup (Metro) that has 8739 active cases till Wednesday evening. In the second place is Dibrugarh with 1593 active cases closely followed by Kamrup (Rural) with 1571 active COVID19 cases.

The remaining 12 districts of Assam with active COVID19 cases are as follows:

4.      Jorhat 668

5.      Darrang 621

6.      Nalbari 576

7.      Tinsukia 570

8.      Cachar 544

9.      Golaghat 536

10.  Sivasagar 421

12.  Bongaigaon 387

In Assam, the first COVID19 patient was detected on 31st March 2020.

According to NHM Assam data, as on 28th April, 2020 the total active cases remain at 21,848. A total of 55,480 COVID-19 tests were conducted in Assam that resulted in 3045 new cases. Twenty two (22) people have died in the state due to COVID19 complications in past twenty four hours.

In Assam, so far 84,65,418 COVID19 tests have been conducted (Cumulative) with 2,46,847 positive cases and 2,22,397 persons have been discharged. The total COVID19 related deaths stands at 1255 and 1347 COVID positive patients have died due to other reasons. The recovery rate is 90.10% and COVID19 death is 0.5%. COVID19 test per million population in Assam stands at 2.46 lakh.
