GUWAHATI, Aug 20: A young college girl in Barpeta is on the run after allegedly stabbing her former boyfriend to death. The girl, a TDC first semester (science) student of Baosi Banikanta Kakati College in Barpeta, allegedly stabbed Mohidul Islam with whom she had been in a relationship for seven years.
Mohidul, a resident of Borbhita, incidentally, was the girl’s paternal cousin. Since they were related, the girl’s family was against their marriage as a result of which the duo split.
Mohidul, after his break-up, married another woman three days ago.
His marriage apparently enraged the accused girl and she asked Mohidul to meet her near the Baosi Banikanta Kakati College yesterday (Aug 19).
Mohidul came with a friend to meet his former girlfriend not knowing she had ulterior motives. And after asking his friend to leave them alone for sometime, the accused college girl stabbed Mohidul a number of time.
Although he was rushed to the Barpeta Medical College Hospital, he was declared dead on arrival.
The accused college student is presentlyabsconding. Her family members, too, are on the run.
