GUWAHATI: “Zubeen Garg is a popular singer, but he has no social responsibility,” said Rajya Sabha MP Ajit Kumar Bhuyan on Monday.
Hitting out at the popular singer for visiting Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and agriculture minister Atul Bora recently, the journalist-turned-politician Ajit Bhuyan said that Zubeen has no ideological strength.
“I don’t understand why an artsite like Zubeen Garg is rushing door to door of the ministers. Ministers should call on him,” Bhuyan said.
“We are not happy what Zubeen Garg has done recently,” Bhuyan criticised the singer who was at the forefront in anti-CAA movement in Assam. Both Bhuyan and Zubeen were fierce critics of the BJP-led government for bringing the citizenship amendment act.
