GUWAHATI, March 1: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s efforts to get support from US President Donald Trump even as the war in Ukraine raged on was met with anger and resistance with Trump chiding the Ukrainian President for prolonging the war and said: “You’re gambling with World War III.”
The clash in the Oval Office grew more heated when Vice President JD Vance accused Zelenskyy of disrespecting the American administration.
Zelenskyy was at the White House to finalize a deal on rare minerals and efforts to end the war which has been continuing since February 2022.
Things started with a cheerful note as the three leaders exchanged handshakes. The discussions suddenly took a sudden and intense turn as Zelenskyy was publicly criticized by Trump and US vice president JD Vance as they accused him of being “disrespectful.”
“You’re in no position to dictate what we’re going to feel,” Trump told Zelenskyy and added: “You don’t have the cards right now.”
“I give tremendous gratitude, generals and your soldiers and yourself. But now we want to get it over. It’s enough,” Trump told Zelenskyy.
