Guwahati: Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi attended Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s Majuli programme and asked CM Sonowal that why he is still single?
Vivek Oberoi attended the ‘Xohudar 2020-21’, a cultural exchange programme of different ethnic communities of the state at Jengraimukh in Majuli district on Sunday evening.
Speaking at the event Vivek Oberoi praised CM Sonowal and also spoke in Assamese to the people of Majuli. He was mesmerized by the natural beauty of Majuli. The event was inaugurated by Chief Minister Sarabananda Sonowal in presence of Union MoS Rameshwar Teli, MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa and Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi.
The Bollywood star said, “I am very much elated to visit Majuli. CM Sonowal is a big brother to me. He is very sweet at heart, honest and grounded to the earth. I have never met any CM who is so simple yet ambitious. The kind of love he has for his people of Assam is unimaginable. He has dedicated his life for the people of the state”.
“I still remember asking him one that why is he single. You are such a handsome man but still you are single, why is that so? But now I realize the fact that he loves his people too much that he doesn’t have any place in his heart for anyone else,” added Oberoi.
Oberoi also observed that the steps taken for maintaining the natural ambience of the island would set an example for the country.
Vivek Oberoi said that he wants to make a movie on the life of great Ahom general Lachit Borphukan with around seventy per cent artists from Assam.
