GUWAHATI: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) on Tuesday celebrated World Social Work Day 2021 in the university premises.
Organised by the Department of Social Works of the university, the event started with lighting of lamp by the dignitaries and felicitation of the guests.
Prof G D Sharma, VC, USTM delivered the welcome address which was followed by a motivational speech by Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor of the university.
As part of the celebration, Padmashree awardee Trinity Saioo of Meghalaya and Jahnabi Goswami, HIV AIDS Activist of Assam were bestowed upon with the USTM Social Work Excellence Award 2021.
