World Cup Q/F: Uruguay to take on France, Brazil face Belgium

FIFA World Cup action is back with the quarter-final matches beginning today (July 6). In the first match Uruguay, who defeated Cristiano Ronaldo-led Portugal 2-1 in the last-16 tie, will face 1998 champions France at Nizhny Novgorod.

France had defeated Argentina 4-3 in the Round-of-16 tie.

The match will begin at 8:30 pm Indian Standard Time.

On the other hand, five-time champios Brazil will take on darkhorses Belgium in the second quarter-final at Kazan. While Brazil defeated Mexico 2-0, Belgium overcame gritty Japan, coming from two-goals down to win 3-2 at Rostov-on-Don in their respective pre-quarters.

The Brazil-Belgium tie will begin at 11:30 pm IST.

Sweden will face England while hosts Russia will lock horns with Croatia in the third and fourth quarter-finals to be played tomorrow (July 7).
