GUWAHATI: A woman Hiranya Devi Hazarika was killed in a road accident in Biswanath on Tuesday night. As per reports, the accident took place near Sadaharu when an unidentified speeding vehicle rammed from behind the car Balen Hazarika and Hiranya Devi Hazarika were traveling. Hiranya Devi is the wife of Balen Hazarika who had been to Mumbai for treatment and she had gone to receive him. The incident took place when the couple was returning to Biswanath.
The deceased, Hiranya Devi Hazarika was a resident of Lehugaon area of Biswanath Chariali. She was working as a teacher at Diring Pathar High School. Balen Hazarika who was seriously injured in the accident was rushed to Times Hospital in Tezpur.
