In a sensational incident, a woman is suspected to be gang-raped near NH-37 in Amoni under Nagaon district on Wednesday morning. The woman later went to Jakhalabandha police station and a lodge a complaint.

The woman traveling in motorcycle from Lanka to Golaghat was waylaid by a group of miscreants near Amoni. They forced her into a car and took her near Kolong river. The woman is suspected to be gang-raped near the Kolong river by the group of miscreants.
Later the woman reached Jakhalabandha police station with the help of a tanker driver and lodged a complaint in the police station. Meanwhile, police admitted the woman in a hospital and launched an investigation to the incident.
