Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was on Friday (March 1) handed over to India after he was taken into custody by Pakistani forces two days ago.
The IAF pilot was taken into custody by Pakistan after his Mig-21 Bison aircraft crashed while the Indian Air Force was repulsing an attempt by Pakistani jets to violate into Indian airspace and he landed on the other side of the LoC in PoK.
He crossed over to India from the Attari-Wagha border at around 9:20 pm and was handed over to BSF after completion of all paperwork.
