The Road Transport and Highways department under Nitin Gadkari will plant 125 crore trees equalling the population of India in the next three years. Gadkari told reporters on Saturday in Nagpur.
“I have done several works related to roads. We have decided that we will plant 125 crore trees equal to the population of India in the next three years,” said Gadkari.
Importantly, all highway projects will be completed within three years. Nitin Gadkari also said that the deadline of road construction will be increased to 40 kilometres per day from the existing target of 32 kilometeres per day.
