GUWAHATI, Jan 12: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Government will publish an advertisement for 4,500 new government posts once the process of declaring results of the Assam Direct Recruitment Examinations (ADRE) are announced in February or March.
Chief Minister Sarma, in a video broadcast streamed live on his Facebook page, said his government will not stop the recruitment process despite absorbing over 1.5 lakh unemployed youths in the government, saying that an advertisement for 4,500 new government jobs will be published after the ADRE results are declared in February end or in the first part of March.
Chief Minister also touched upon a number of other key issues, including the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 infrastructure and investment summit in February, which he said will bring more investments to Assam and thereby create more jobs for local youths.
He also spoke about launching a new mobile-based application through which people can inform PWD officials about bad roads while such information and complaints will help officials in getting potholed roads repaired in quickest possible time.
Chief Minister Sarma said the mobile application will be introduced in five major cities — Guwahati, Tezpur, Jorhat, Dibrugarh and Silchar — in the first phase. He said the move should see daylight in a couple of months and hoped that he will be able to launch it by April or May this year. The jurisdiction, he also said, could be expanded to other places in due course of time.
Chief Minister Sarma, on the other hand, expressed grief over the coal mine tragedy in Dima Hasao’s Umrangso and said the government would provide adequate relief to the next of kin of the deceased miners besides reiterating that those responsible for carrying out illegal mining in the quarry will not go unpunished.
