GUWAHATI, Jan 13: Bollywood star Preity Zinta said that she and her family are safe “as of now” following the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles and added that she is “heartbroken at the devastation”.
“I never thought I would live to see a day where fires would ravage neighbourhoods around us in LA, friends & families either evacuated or put on high alert, ash descending from smoggy skies like snow & fear & uncertainty about what will happen if the wind does not calm down with toddlers and grandparents with us,” she wrote on ‘X’, formerly Twitter.
“I’m heartbroken at the devastation around us and grateful to God that we are safe as of now,” Preity continued.
Preity also extended her thoughts and prayers to those displaced in the wildfires while thanking the fire department, firefighters and everyone helping to save lives and properties.
Six major wildfires — the Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, Kenneth Fire, Hurst Fire, Woodley Fire, Lidia Fire, Sunset Fire, and Tyler Fire — are blazing around Los Angeles.
The wildfires in Palisades and Eaton have been the worst and both, reports stated, are now among the most destructive in California’s history.
