GUWAHATI: Dimapur Police gifted 40 bamboo barricades as a goodwill gesture to Delhi Police for traffic management in Delhi. Police normally use plastic or metal barricades for traffic management across India and with a view to promote Atmanirbhar Bharat and Bamboo products Dimapur Police have come up with a unique idea.
These bamboo barricades can be used for multiple purposes such as traffic assistance tools and road safety purposes. The man behind the idea of Bamboo barricades is none other than T. Henthai Phom, ACP Traffic Zone II, Dimapur. He not only conceptualized the idea but also designed the barricade.
Phom said that the motivation and idea also came about from PM’s Modi’s vision of self-reliance through the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan Programme pushing ‘Vocal for Local.’
