Skipper Virat Kohli, facing a severe backlash and being trolled for asking a fan to leave the country after the latter said he prefers to watch “English and Australian” cricketers over their Indian counterparts, took to twitter to clarify his remark asking people to “keep it light”.
He also stated that he would prefer to “getting trolled” rather than troll others.
“I guess trolling isn’t for me guys, I’ll stick to getting trolled! I spoke about how “these Indians” was mentioned in the comment and that’s all. I’m all for freedom of choice. Keep it light guys and enjoy the festive season. Love and peace to all,” Kohli, who has had a majestic season in all three formats of the game, wrote on Twitter.

The Indian captain had created a flutter when, while reading out comments on his mobile application ‘Virat Kohli official app’, told an user to leave India after he stated that Kohli was an “overrated batsmen” and that he saw nothing special in his batting besides also claiming to like watching English and Australian batsmen more than “these Indians”.
“Okay, I don’t think you should live in India then… go and live somewhere else no. Why are you living in our country and loving other countries? I don’t mind you not liking me but I don’t think you should live in our country and like other things. Get your priorities right,” Kohli, seemingly angered by the remark, hit back.
