Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s ashes have been immersed in the Brahmaputra and Barak rivers today (Aug 23) after the urn containing the ash were brought to Guwahati from New Delhi yesterday (Aug 22).
Chief Minister Sarbannada Sonowal and State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Das immersed the ashes in the Brahmaputra at Lachit Ghat in Guwahati in the presence of other party leaders.

The former Prime Minister’s ashes were also immersed at the Brahmaputra in Dibrugarh and Dhubri and in the river Barak at Silchar.
