Uttarakhand biker Noni took to social media to express her gratitude to Guwahati Police

GUWAHATI, March 10: Uttarakhand biker Noni has thanked Guwahati Police for recovering a motorcycle belonging to her riders’ group which was stolen from a guest house in Sarusajai locality of Guwahati hours after their arrival on March 5.

Police also arrested the third person — the one who had stolen the motorcycle from Sarusajai — from Goalpara. The arrested motorcycle thief, police said, has been identified as Ashraf Ali while his father has also been taken into custody for his complicity to the crime.

In a video posted by the biker, who is popularly known as Rider Noni, she expressed her gratitude to Basistha Police for their swift action in recovering the motorcycle which, she said in the video, is key to her content creation activities since the person who rides the two-wheeler shoots her videos and is an important part of her team.

“I want to thank the team of policemen from Basistha Police Station for swiftly tracking down my stolen motorcycle, specially Kalyan sir,” Noni, who is on a cross-country ride to promote women empowerment, said in her video.

“I am at Basistha Police Station and here’s the first look of my motorcycle. I want to show you the condition of the bike. Some people might be thinking it is not mu bike but let me tell you it is my co-rider’s bike and travels with me and all videos are shot and edited by this rider,” Uttarakhand biker Noni also stated.

The theft had come to light after the woman biker took to the social media, seeking help from Assam Police as well as from Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in getting her stolen bike back.

After a case was registered at Basistha Police Station, cops recovered the stolen motorcycle besides arresting the gang involved in bike-lifting.
