Uruka shocker! Assamese singer Rajib Sadia, who collapsed on stage on Sunday night, passes away at AMCH

GUWAHATI, Jan 13: Acclaimed Assamese singer Rajib Sadia, who had collapse on stage during a musical night at Phiobari in Tinsukia, passed away at the Assam Medical College Hospital (AMCH) today.

Sadia collapsed in the middle of his musical performance leading to panic among the people. He was rushed to AMCH and admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) where he breathed his last despite efforts of doctors to revive his health.

Rajib’s father told News Live that his son had some issues with low blood pressure but had not complained about anything serious in recent days.

“We rushed to AMCH today after the organisers informed us that our son Rajib had collapsed on the stage during the musical night at Philobari yesterday. I thought he would be okay with doctors attending to him in the ICU. But when I went to see him, I realised his condition was critical. In half an hour’s time, doctors informed us that he is no more,” his father said, unable to control his tears.

His death has cast a pall of gloom among music lovers and his fans and followers.

“He was a very good friend of mine. It’s really shocking that he is no more. I am unable to come to terms with the news,” singer Kusumm Kailash, who knew Rajib Sadia very closely, told News Live.
