GUWAHATI: United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) Chief Pramod Boro on Saturday while speaking to Northeast Live has exuded confidence of resounding party victory in the BTC elections.
“People of the BTR region were fed up with the misrule of BPF in the last 17 years and people wanted change in this election. I am hopeful that UPPL will win with majority,” Pramod Boro said.
“People want peace, security and good governance in our region,” he added.
Meanwhile, Boro informed that the core committee of the UPPL will hold a meeting on Sunday, where the decision to have an alliance, if necessary, will be finalized.
The UPPL has maintained its lead in 18 seats after the second round of counting.
Pramod Boro-led UPPL is giving a tough fight to Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) in most of the seats. The BPF that ruled BTC for 15 years has come down to single-digit with leads in just 6 seats.
The second place is taken by the BJP which is leading in 11 seats.
