UMPC Manipur condemns Pahalgam terror attack: The United Meitei-Pangal Committee (UMPC), Manipur, has expressed its deepest sorrow and strongest condemnation of the recent heinous attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.
“This cowardly and senseless act of violence has claimed innocent lives and shattered the peace of a region already grappling with tension. The victims, who had simply ventured out in the spirit of tourism, peace, and discovery, did not deserve such cruelty. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and stand in solidarity with the survivors and the people of Jammu & Kashmir during this tragic moment,” a statement issued by Raees Ahamed Tampak, general secretary of UMPC Manipur, stated.
“UMPC Manipur prays for strength and resilience for the families of the victims, and for the speedy recovery of the injured. We call for justice to be delivered swiftly and fairly, and urge the authorities to ensure that such acts do not go unpunished,” the statement further stated.
The body also urged both the Central Government and the Government of Jammu & Kashmir “to take urgent and decisive action in bringing the perpetrators to book, and to ensure that those responsible are punished strictly, irrespective of caste, creed, religion, or nationality”.
Meanwhile, as a mark of solidarity with the victims and to express strongest condemnation of the terror attack, UMPC Manipur urged all Muslims attending Jumma’h Namaz (Friday Prayer) to wear a black ribbon as a mark of protest.
