Two ULFA(I) cadres surrender with arms at Sapekhati

GUWAHATI: Two dreaded cadres of the United Liberation Front of Assam(I) surrendered with arms and ammunition at Sapekhati camp of 244 regiment of Indian Army in Charaideo district.

Chao Lakkhi Lungnun alias Rubul Asom who hails from Narayanpur area of Lakhimpur district joined the outfit in 2010 and received training in Myanmar. Another cadre identified as Manashjyoti Patmaut alias Bastab Asom from Sonari under Charaideo district joined the ULFA(I) in 2017.

The surrendered cadres handed over one HK 33 rifle, two magazines and thirty three rounds of live bullets to the Army.

“I thank Indian Army for helping me. Because of them, it has become possible for me to meet my parents and family after a so long time. I want to work for the society now,” said surrendered ULFA(I) militant Manashjoyoti Patmaut.

“I am really happy today. I have met my son after a long time,” Manashjyoti’s mother expressed her happiness.
