Two cadres of United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) detained from Tinsukia in connection with the assassination of Bordumsa Officer in Charge Bhaskar Kalita. The cadres have been identified as Dipankar Bora and Mamon Dihingia.

Acting on a tip off, the Tinsukia Police carried operation for four days to nab the cadres on Sunday. The cadres were known to be close associates of ULFA-I leader Jaan Asom.
Notably, Bhaskar Kalita, the OC of Bordumsa Police Station in upper Assam’s Tinsukia district was martyred during a fierce gun battle between ULFA-I cadres and the security forces at Kujupathar in Tinsukia’s Bordumsa on 4th May.
