Two special trains with 2,000 passengers reach Assam from Kerala

GUWAHATI: More than two thousand returnees have reached Assam by two special trains from Kerala on Monday. One of the trains has already reached Guwahati Railway Station.

Authorities have made adequate arrangements for the screening and quarantine of the incoming passengers. The passengers will be sent to their respective districts.

“We have come from Maharashtra. We will go to Hailakandi. Authorities have arranged buses for us” said a passenger.

Earlier, several COVID-19 positive cases were detected among the passengers of Shramik Special Trains. Most of the cases in Assam have been reported from the returnees.

Therefore, authorities have made elaborate arrangements to ensure quarantine of the incoming passengers.
