GUWAHATI: In a joint operation launched by Chirang police and Indian Army, two linkmen of the banned outfit National Democratic Front of Bodoland (S) were arrested at Bengtol under Runikhata police station of Chirang district.
Chirang Superintendent of Police Sudhakar Singh told media persons that acting on a tip-off, the joint team of police and army conducted the operation on the bank of the Aie river on Wednesday night.
“We have recovered a pistol and four rounds of live bullets from their possession. After interrogation, they have confessed their association with NDFB (S),” said SP Singh.
The arrested NDFB-S linkmen have been identified as Sansuma Musahary of Santipara and Petrus Narzary of Bishpani village of Runikhata area.
Meanwhile police registered a case against the duo and interrogating them for further details.
