GUWAHATI, March 3: Two drug peddlers from Assam were in Senapati district of Manipur bordering Nagaland on Sunday, reports said.
Brown sugar worth around Rs 20 lakh was also recovered from the arrested peddlers who have been identified as Biswajit Hazarika (46) and Irfan Haque (34).
A case under NDPS Act 1985 was registered against the drug smugglers. Assam Police have been launching a massive crackdown against drug smuggling after the BJP Government led by Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma came to power in 2021 and have seized huge amount of contraband substances.
