The two Class 9 students, identified as Bikash Rajbangshi and Ali Hussain, said they would be leaving for Hyderabad after skipping their annual examination on Friday.
GUWAHATI, March 8: Two Class 9 students of Noonmati High School — Bikash Rajbangshi and Ali Hussain — ‘went missing’ from Guwahati forcing families of the two students to lodge separate police complaints after the duo did not return from school yesterday (March 7).
The two students had gone to school yesterday morning to appear in their annual examinations. However, they did not return home forcing the two families to launch a desperate search for them.
However, they learnt after making some initial inquiries that their wards did not appear in the examinations but told fellow students that they would be going to Hyderabad.
It is, however, not known as to whether the duo informed their friends as to when they would leave Guwahati for the capital of Telangana.
With the skeletal details in hand and unable to get any clue about their whereabouts, the families decided to lodge missing complaints with police.
The distraught families, News Live has learnt, have lodged separate complaints at Noonmati Police Station and Railway Police Station at Paltan Bazaar.
Police have launched an investigation and are trying to find out if the two students did board a train to Hyderabad with cops scanning CCTV visuals of the Guwahati Railway Station as part of their probe.
