GUWAHATI: Assam Police arrested two men in connection with Digboi grenade explosion that claimed lives of two persons on May 14.
Police arrested Ranjit Changmai and Hiren Gogoi alias Munu on Tuesday. Police also recovered a motorcycle which was allegedly used in carrying out the explosion.
“Both the accused involved in Tingrai grenade blast have been apprehended. The motorcycle used has also been recovered,” said additional director general of police (ADGP) GP Singh in a tweet.
Singh said both have active connections with banned outfit United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent.
The bomb blast at Tingrai Market of Digboi in Tinsukia district killed two men and injured two others.

Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to next of kind of each of the deceased.
