GUWAHATI: Two persons were arrested on Saturday from Dhubri for posting messages supporting Taliban on social media. The Dhubri Police arrested two persons based on their posts. Of now, a total of 14 persons have been arrested by Assam Police from various parts of the state for posting material that supports the Taliban’s rule in Afghanistan.
“Yesterday, we came to know that on social media a post had been put showing support to Taliban. We started inquiring and found that there were two persons using two different accounts to post the content. We then located the user of these accounts and profiles and apprehended them. They are being questioned and we are taking action according to the law. One of the post is on a personal account and the other one is on a page and we are investigating the matter,” informed Abhijit Gurav, Superintendent of Police, Dhubri.
