GUWAHATI, Nov 5: As Election Day arrived in America that will decide who succeeds Joe Biden as the next US President, tens of millions of Americans have already cast their ballots, including in Georgia, North Carolina and other battleground states that could decide who has the last laugh.
Meanwhile, the first votes cast on Election Day were evenly split with three going in favour of Donald Trump and three for Kamala Harris.
The University of Florida’s Election Lab, which tracks early and mail-in voting across the US, said more than 82 million Americans have already cast their votes as of Sunday.
Earlier on Monday, Vice-President Harris and former President Trump wrapped up this year’s presidential race with a heated battle for Pennsylvania.
“The momentum is on our side,” Harris said in her last speech in Philadelphia as she canvassed door-to-door alongside campaign volunteers.
“With your vote tomorrow, we can fix every single problem our country faces and lead America—and the whole world—to new heights of glory,” Trump told the crowd at North Carolina.
Regarding the results, reports said that it could take days, or even weeks, keeping in mind how closely-contested the entire affair has been, for the final resulta to be declared.
