Gossaigaon: Assam forest officials seized a large quantity of buffalo horns and animal parts in an operation in the Srirampur area.
Office of the divisional forest officer, Kachugaon received inputs that a truck carrying buffalo horns and bones was traveling from Manipur to Uttar Pradesh through National Highway (NH-31) that connects Assam to West-Bengal.
Based on this information, Motilal Basumatary, Divisional Forest Officer, Kachugaon Forest Division led the operation along with his team and apprehended the truck from a Dhaba in the Srirampur area at midnight.
Three persons including the truck driver have been detained for questioning.
They have been identified as Mohammad Nasim, Arbaz Khan, and Mohammad Zunaid.
The detainees are now being interrogated for further information.
