Cricket fever has gripped Guwahati once again as the city is all set to host two matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on May 15 and 19 at Barsapara Stadium and in view of of these matches traffic restrictions has been announced.
In a joint press conference convened by the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) and Guwahati Traffic Police a few traffic restrictions has been imposed in the city for May 15 and 19 respectively.
The restrictions aim to ensure the safety of the public, particularly vulnerable road users, and to allow free access for emergency vehicles.
The press conference was addressed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Jayanta Sarathi Bora and ACA General Secretary Tridip Konwar.
The first match will be played between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings on May 15 (Wednesday).
The second match will be played on May 19 (Sunday) between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders.
Ticket prices range between Rs 1,000 to 17,300 per ticket. Students can buy tickets at Rs 500 from the Box Office.
