Traffic regulations imposed in Guwahati for smooth conduct of Jhumoir Binondini, Advantage Assam 2.0

GUWAHATI, Feb 24: Keeping public convenience and safety in mind, and to facilitate smooth passage of emergency services like ambulances and fire tenders, Guwahati Traffic Police has effected regulations on movement of vehicles ahead of today’s Jhumoir Binondini event and the two-day Advantage Assam 2.0 which will officially kick off tomorrow.

Guidelines for entry of vehicles into Sarusajai Sports Complex for Jhumoir Binandini event

  1. GOLD Vehicle Pass Holders: Entry through Gate No. 1B (Main Entry Gate), drop-off near the main roundabout, with parking near the Indoor Stadium.
  2. DROP OFF Vehicle Pass Holders: Entry through Gate No. 1B (Main Entry Gate), drop-off near the roundabout, with parking at AEGCL Parking via Gate No. 4.
  3. Essential Service Vehicles (GREEN Pass Holders): Entry through Gate No. 1B (Main Entry Gate). 4. Other Card/Invitation Holders: Entry via Gate No. 1C (Main Gate) on foot.
  4. The stretch from Koinadhara to Jalukbari will be a NO ESCORT/PILOT Vehicle Zone.

Guidelines for entry of vehicles into Khanapara Veterinary Field for Advantage Assam 2.0

  1. SAFFRON (Pentagon) Pass Holders: Entry via Gate No. 4 (in front of the National Science Centre), drop- off inside the venue, and exit from Gate No. 3 with parking at the Regional Science Centre Campus. 2. SAFFRON (Triangle) and GOLD Pass Holders: Entry through Gate No. 6 (in front of APSC Office), drop-off at the gate, parking at Veterinary College Field, exit via Gate No. 9 (near Rohika Guest House) on NH-27 Service Lane after VVIP departure.
  2. Liaison Officers of Delegates: Parking at Sericulture Field.
  3. SILVER, BRONZE, BLUE, and GREEN Pass Holders: Entry via Gate No. 7 (on APSC Road), the drop-off in front of the gate, with parking at various designated locations, including GMC parking Khanapara, Rohika Guest House, ISBT Khanapara, Assam Accord Field on GS Road, Devashi Parking, Basistha, Pinku Parking, Basistha, Beltola Bihutoli Field, Basistha, Bongaon Field, Basistha, and K.V. School, Khanapara. 5. Post WIP Departure: Gate No. 10 (opposite Koinadhara Hill) will be opened for use.
  4. Escort/Pilot Vehicles: Parking on the roadside at the Jayanagar to Tripura Gali stretch.

Regulations on movement of vehicles from Feb 24-26

  1. Plying of Commercial Goods carrying Vehicles of 4 wheels and above shall be restricted on NH-27 and NH-17 falling under Guwahati City from 7AM to 11:30 PM on February 24 and from 6 AM to 10 PM on February 25 & 26.
  2. Plying of Commercial Goods carrying Vehicles of 3 wheels and above shall be restricted on A.K Azad Road, A.K Deb Road, from Jalukbari Rotary to Bharalumukh on Dinesh Goswami Road, Garchuk-Pamohi Road, Boragaon Swahid Nyas Path, Gorol Road, Dr. Bhobendra Nath Saikia Road, Dakhingaon Road, Lalmati Bhetapara Road, Beharbari- Bhetapara Road, AG Colony Road, Tripura Lane Road, VIP Road, Basistha Mandir Road and from Ulubari to Khanapara on GS Road from 9 AM to 11:30 PM on February, 24.
  3. Plying of Commercial Goods carrying Vehicles of 3 wheels and above shall be restricted from Ulubari to Khanapara on GS Road, Prison Gate to Beltola Tiniali Point, from Six Mile to Joyanagar, Dr. Bhobendra Nath Saikia Road, VIP Road, Zoo Road and Panjabari Road from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM on February 25 & 26.

Guwahati Traffic Police have urged citizens to cooperate with the restrictions to ensure a smooth and safe experience during the two events. Commuters have also been advised to plan their journeys accordingly, use alternative routes where necessary, and follow traffic advisories issued by the authorities.

Residents and visitors have also been encouraged to stay informed about real-time traffic updates and adhere to the guidelines for a hassle-free experience.
