CM involved in syndicates in Forest dept: Pradyut Bordoloi

PUBLISHED:

Newly-elected Nagaon Lok Sabha MP Pradyut Bordoloi has alleged syndicates are not only back but flourishing under the BJP government and that even Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is involved in the illegal trade. The former Assam minister who was elected to the Lok Sabha from Nagaon in the recently-concluded general elections said forest wealth is being plundered in Margherita, the legislative assembly constituency he previously held, with the active involvement of district administration, police, forest and the chief minister’s office.

“Syndicates are flourishing and an example is the activities taking place in the Forest department in Margherita,” he alleged.

“Reserve forests here are being finished. Forest wealth is being plundered. And everyone, from district administration, police, forest department and the CM office, is involved,” Bordoloi further said.

The Congress leader’s accusations come at a time when the BJP-led State Government under Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has been maintaining zero tolerance towards corruption.
