Breaking: 8 more Coronavirus positive cases in Assam, number rises to 13

GUWAHATI:  Eight more persons have been tested positive with Coronavirus in Assam raising the total number to 13.

All these persons attended Tablighi Jamat at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi and returned to Assam.

“Alert ~ 8 more #COVID19 positive cases in Assam, taking the total to 13.All eight new cases are of people who also participated in #TablighiJamaat congregation at #NizamuddinMarkaz. Update at 9 pm / April 1,” Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted. 

According to the reports, the 8 new confirmed cases are from various parts of Upper Assam.

Earlier, Five returnees from Nizamuddin Markaz were detected with Coronavirus. Jamaluddin, a 52-year old man from Badarpur in South Assam’s Karimganj district was the first Coronavirus patient in the state. He is being treated at Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

The other four persons tested positive at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital have been identified as— Md. Arshad Ali, Nalbari

Md. Hajrat Ali, Jagiroad

Md. Nuruddin Jagiroad

Md. Jonab Ali, Jagiroad
