GUWAHATI: The newly elected members of the Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) took oath on Wednesday at Morigaon in middle Assam.
Jibon Chandra Konwar took the charge of the chief executive member (CEM) of the council. Along with the members and other dignitaries, Assam minister of state for health and family welfare Pijush Hazarika was also present at the oath taking ceremony.
The BJP registered a landslide victory in the TAC winning 33 of 36 seats. BJP’s ally Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) won two seats, while the opposition Congress was decimated with just one seat in its kitty.
