Security forces Wednesday succeeded in foiling a major bid to carry out subversive activities following the recovery of over two kilograms of explosives from a bus in Guwahati.
The explosives were seized from the bus (bearing registration number AS-15C-8302) by a team from Basistha Police Station. The bus had come to Guwahati from Barpeta.

The driver and handyman of the bus have been detained for questioning.
Although the nature of explosives is not known, police sources said it may have been brought to Guwahati to carry out blasts. Police are continuing investigations in this regard.
